Casa Vecchia Mulino – a small family business whose history dates back to 1860, when the young Giacomo Bertolone opened a bakery in Pino Torinese and quickly became famous and celebrated for his breadsticks, named “Rubata”. Today, located in one of the northernmost regions of Italy, just 25 km from Turin, Casa Vecchio Mulino has earned a place at the table of Italian artisans as a master craftsman, thanks to Giacomo’s recipes and traditional baking methods (each piece stretched by hand with a slow-fermentation and baking technique). Just like his great-grandfather 150 years ago, the current owner pays tribute to Nonno Giacomo by producing authentic, artisanal, simple and appetizing flatbreads, such as grissini breadsticks.
