'Many of you probably don't need to be told this, but when a recipe prescribes teaspoons, tablespoons, or fractions of teaspoons, they are actually asking for accurate measurements. For example, a tablespoon in a recipe has a volume of 15ml, and a teaspoon has a volume of 5ml. Measuring spoons (and measuring cups) measure volume, not weight, so it's impossible to give a uniform equivalent weight. Now, I wouldn't make a terrible mistake with a teaspoon, but I'm always worried that someone will use a serving spoon when it says tablespoon. That would screw everything up.
