Rombouts filter papers are made from natural cellulose fibres and contain no glues or plastics. They are biodegradable and once used, can end up in food, green waste or general waste. We only use chlorine-free oxygen bleached ECF cellulose paper (ECF = elemental chlorine free). This reduces the papery flavour often found in other filter papers and has a significantly lower impact on the environment than traditional chlorine bleached paper.
