About
It's made from DOP crushed red Jalanda chillies, produced in the Extremadura region, and smoked over oak fires, giving it an unmistakable spicy and smoky flavour.
It's a traditional condiment in Spanish cuisine, from paella to bean stews to casseroles, and can also be used as a garnish for hummus, fried meats and fish, and lightly toasted Marcona almonds.

Pimentón de la Vela DOP paprika must be smoked over oak and the peppers are grown in the fertile region around La Vela in northern Extremadura.
