Baci has a beautiful story. It was invented in 1922 by Luisa Spagnoli, the creative genius owner of the Perugina chocolate company. She created a delicious chocolate bonbon by blending just eight ingredients: chocolate, ground hazelnut cream, finely chopped hazelnuts, topped with a whole crunchy hazelnut and covered in fine dark chocolate. Legend has it that the first love note appeared in the 1930s, when she wanted to send a secret love message to her beloved.
Almost 100 years later, Baci continues to be made with love, with the original recipe and process remaining unchanged. Located in the same region as its birthplace, close to the city of Perugia, Italy, where a factory was established over a century ago, today it remains a symbol of high quality chocolate and tradition.
